Live Better, Longer Together

We help communities make healthy living easier—by redesigning the environments people live, work, and connect in. We don’t rely on willpower. We reshape systems, spaces, and social norms—so healthier choices become the default.

OUR PURPOSE

We Make the Healthy Choice the Easy Choice.

Informed and inspired by the world’s longest-lived cultures, our purpose is to empower everyone, everywhere to live better, longer.

Our success in cities, businesses, and states across America makes Blue Zones Project a proven model for transforming the health of large populations.

Blue Zones uses a “People, Places, Policy” approach to create lasting change across the whole community.

Optimizing local built environment and food systems policies is a high-impact, cost-effective strategy to reduce chronic disease and increase well-being.

With this approach, individuals can see tangible transformation taking place in their lives: from the places they spend time, to the streets and paths they traverse, the foods they eat, beverages they drink, and the air they breathe.

How we do it:

People

We implement community social groups, called Moais, to help foster deep social connections and provide volunteer opportunities to connect with those who share similar values.

Places

We work to optimize the places and spaces people spend the most time (restaurants, schools, grocery stores, and worksites) so that healthy choices are easier or even unavoidable.

Policy

We reshape streets and public spaces, improve food access, and shift policies to create an environment that supports longevity
